This year was my first year away from home for the holidays. Though I missed my family dearly, I was really excited to spend my first christmas with the love of my life. Things were totally different than what I am used too, but it was really great to start our own traditions, and share each of our own traditions with each other.
One night a few weeks before christmas we look out the window and it is snowing!!! So we bundled up and went for a walk around the neighborhood. It was so awesome and slightly eery because everything was white and it was dead silent because everyone was already asleep.
Our First Christmas Tree :) It was fun going to the tree farm and picking one out. The boys were making fun of me for being so picky, but this was a significant tree and I wanted it to be perfect!!!
The tree is decorated :) Our first tradition that we have started is every year we are going to buy each other a christmas ornament. (this was tim's idea which I thought was really special because he wanted to have something that would mark all the years we are going to spend together.) I bought tim a bears ornament naturally, and he got me a wooden owl because my new obsession is anything with an owl on it.
Christmas eve and christmas night were spent with my new family. These are my new sisters and brother. I really had a lot of fun spending time with them and getting to know them better. I really am starting to feel like a part of the family. Christmas eve at tim's mom's house consists of eating a traditional polish meal. That was something that I was not preparing for and thankfully survived.
After Christmas comes New Years. This New Years was special for several reasons. One it was my very first new years where I had someone to kiss at midnight. Two ringing in the year 2011 is also ringing in the year that I AM GETTING MARRIED!!!! This year in general is going to be so exciting and I was just so happy that I got to start it off right with Timothy Albert Mroz.
